The same argument could be made against passing whether or not changes should be tracked. I proposed this because there is a table:track-changes attribute. I don't object to showing being independent of tracking, although that is apparently how it works in the current implementations for tables.
We do not say how the tracking of changes is evident, and I don't propose any more than that here.
The biggest reason for showing tracked changes is so they can be reviewed and accepted or rejected. This is not about change bars and such and how the presence of changes in *accepted* texts are identified. (I assume that becomes something that requires a style to handle.)
Finally, I am not that concerned about tracking changes in tables in any case. I just wanted to explain what I had noticed and what the concern was.
I have no objection to any resolution Eike makes for this.
