Subject: Review of ODF 1.1 Errata 01 WD04: CROWDSOURCE PLEASE
As I announced to WG6 (below), I am delaying the availability of ODF 1.1 Errata 01 WD05 up to 60 day. The intended-to-be CSD01-ready, WD06, will follow that by up to 30 days. MEANWHILE, there is opportunity to crowd-source the review of the Errata 01 WD04 changes against ODF 1.1 and the earlier ODF 1.0 Errata 01 and Errata 02. 1. An easy way to do this is to break up the review by blocks of section. Any discrepancy can be reported here or introduced with a JIRA issue for review and disposition. Folks should make known what block they are tackling, so that others can look elsewhere. The idea is to have coverage first, then go deeper where that matters. 2. The documents to compare are section 2 (the changes) of ODF 1.1 Errata 01 WD04, <http://www.oasis-open.org/committees/document.php?document_id=46096&wg_abbrev=office> and the mocked-changes markup of ODF 1.1, also WD04, at <http://www.oasis-open.org/committees/document.php?document_id=46064&wg_abbrev=office>. a. The first objective is to establish that the mocked-changes agree with the ODF 1.1 Errata 01 change instructions, and that there are no changed texts for which an instruction is absent. b. To go deeper, a particular change can be reviewed for consistency with the ODF 1.0 Errata 02 instructions (which repeat the ODF 1.0 Errata 01 instructions). If an ODF 1.1 Errata 01 change is attributed to COR1, that is also in 1.0 Errata 01. The COR2 changes are also in 1.0 Errata 02. When a change is attributed to AMD1, this is new material for which an ODF JIRA is required. These have not all been filled in. That can wait until after WD05 availability. I will capture any discrepancies that are brought up here and, after appropriate discussion, remedy them in WD05. Double-checking is valuable, especially where a discrepancy is noticed. I recommend coverage (breadth) first, then any depth that is found necessary. 2. The document to compare with is the Mocked Change-Tracking of ODF 1.1, <http://www.oasis-open.org/committees/document.php?document_id=46064&wg_abbrev=office>. 3. For any AMD1 change in a given section (ODF 1.1 has the same section numberings), you should be able to observe a. The Mocked Change-Tracking already has the AMD1 change, without any change-tracking needed b. The Mocked Change-Tracking provides the equivalent of the AMD1 change, with a combination of what is already there and what is shown via change-marking in the Mocked Change-Tracking document. c. There is a discrepancy and it is *not* an exception pointed out in the ODF 1.1 Errata 01 WD04 draft as a discrepancy. 4. The same as (3) can be done for COR1 and COR2. Some of these will be found to have exceptions in ODF 1.1 Errata 01 WD04 also. 5. There are a few changes in Errata 01 WD04 and the Mocked Change-Tracking that are newer than AMD1. Those are identified in the ODF 1.1 Errata 01 WD04 document. Those will be reconciled with IS 26300 later. I will capture any discrepancies that are brought up here and, after appropriate discussion, remedy them in WD05. I deleted that and uploaded the ODT. There's another problem, I see. The announcements of these uploads that go to the ODF TC list provided the public link in the past. I see those notices are now providing the private link and I must manually provide public links. (I didn't notice because I have a cookie set and wasn't asked to log on.)
