Subject: [OASIS Issue Tracker] (OFFICE-3867) PAS Comment JP3: Earlier XmlDsig-Core edition referenced

    [ https://issues.oasis-open.org/browse/OFFICE-3867?page=com.atlassian.jira.plugin.system.issuetabpanels:comment-tabpanel&focusedCommentId=51640#comment-51640 ]

Robert Weir commented on OFFICE-3867:

This document gives a good overview of what changed in xml dsig 1.1:

Reading that I see that some mandatory new encryption algorithms have been added. This introduces backwards compatibility issues.

But our biggest concern should be with our signature schema where we make explicit reference to the xml dsig 1.0 (second edition) namespace URI:

I don't think we can or should change URI's in the published schema. And reinterpreting the old URI to use xml dsig 1.1 semantics would be very confusing.

So I'd recommend *not* changing this reference until ODF 1.3, when we can update both the text of the specification as well as the URI in the schema.
