Subject: Re: Copyright language for schemas?

Thanks for raising this - I need to review my practice with Jamie. Having said that ->

Section 14.2 of the IPR policy lays out the alternate, minimal notice that can be included in machine readable files like schemas - https://www.oasis-open.org/policies-guidelines/ipr#notices

It reads:

---
14.2 Alternative Notice

Other OASIS Deliverables that are primarily intended for machine rather than human consumption and whose format requires terse _expression_ may, as an alternative to Section 14.1, include just the short-form notice as follows replacing [copyright year] with the year or year range of publication:

Copyright © OASIS Open [copyright year]. All Rights Reserved.
Distributed under the terms of the OASIS IPR Policy, [http://www.oasis-open.org/policies-guidelines/ipr], AS-IS, WITHOUT ANY IMPLIED OR EXPRESS WARRANTY; there is no warranty of MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE or NONINFRINGEMENT of the rights of others.

---

So you can use that minimal copyright statements and avoid the problematic text.

Work?

Chet,

What is the current status of discussions on copyright statements on
schemas?

This comes up in Office-2153 for example.

Suggestions?

Hope you are at the start of a great week!
