Simon Phipps: To clarify the COSM project: The UK non-profit Public Software CIC (https://publicsoftware.eu) has set up a project at the request of TDF, called the Community of ODF Specification Maintainers (COSM). TDF has also made an initial donation and the project is promised another donation from a stakeholder. Public Software CIC will contract with an individual (or individuals) who the trustees of the COSM project approve as qualified to edit the ODF specification and shepherd it through the OASIS and ISO processes. Public Software will seek the advice of the TC as to what work packages need executing and which of the approved editors they would prefer to work on them. Public Software seeks further donations from ODF stakeholders to ensure that the new specification is completed to a satisfactory quality level and on an agreed timescale.
Simon Phipps: Recommendations for qualified editors should be sent to COSM@publicsoftware.eu preferably before the end of May 2018. Public Software will (hopefully) seek input from the TC on work packages to assign to editor(s) on June 4 or June 11.
Simon Phipps: To discuss making a donation to COSM to meet our target fund of 120k euros, please contact simon@publicsoftware.eu
