Subject: ODF chat notes for 23 July 2018

Our chat notes for the ODF teleconference on 23 July 2018.

Hope everyone is at the start of a great week!

Rich McLain: richmc@microsoft.com
Patrick: Thanks Rich!
Patrick: Agenda is approved (have quorum)
Patrick: update to odf 1.4 and split into separate issue for odf 1.2 errata
Patrick: The svg:viewBox attribute establishes a user coordinate system inside the coordinate system of
the shape specified by the position and size attributes. This user coordinate system is used by the
drawoints and svg:d attributes, as well as by the attributes of <draw:enhancedgeometry>
element and its child elements which specify coordinates.

The syntax for using this attribute is the same as the [SVG] syntax. The value of the attribute are
four numbers separated by white spaces, which define the left, top, right, and bottom dimensions
of the user coordinate system.
Patrick: office-3996 is new issue of svg:viewbox for ODF 1.4
Patrick: office-3996 is resolved.
Patrick: Now what to do about office-3779?
Patrick: Correct in draft of ODF 1.3 instead of ODF 1.4
Patrick: Office-3779- include in ODF 1.2 errata
Patrick: choice element not correctly defined in schema for one of binary vs. svg image
Patrick: Regina wants xlink, binary or svg but only one of those for an instance
Patrick: do we allow SVG in package format or only in flat format
Patrick: current solution, put SVG in folder and refer to it by link, with flat file, have to put the SVG in one large file.
Patrick: include SVG as base64 in a flat file
Patrick: but svg is XML so it can just be included
Patrick: having it as native SVG in flat file makes it easier to transform
Patrick: easier to track changes in SVG when included as native SVG
Patrick: Open office-3995, set to ODF 1.4
Patrick: Regina to update the proposal.
