Subject: Marking ODF mimetype as OBSOLETE - Registering a new mime type
Chet,
IANA has registered:
vnd.oasis.opendocument.database application/vnd.oasis.opendocument.database
Author/Change controller : OASIS OpenDocument TC
http://www.oasis-open.org/committees/tc_home.php?wg_abbrev=office
Email: tc-admin&oasis-open.org
That mime type, so far as we know, has never been used nor does it appear in any version of ODF.
We want to register:
application/vnd.oasis.opendocument.base odb
which does appear in ODF and is used in fact.
2 - step process
1. Have the vnd.oasis.opendocument.database declared OBSOLETE (that's you)
2. Prepare a new registration for the new mime type (I'm doing that for your approval, after vetting by Francis Cave and the TC).
For example:
ecmascript - OBSOLETED in favor of application/ecmascript
So, I suspect these changes will need to be in tandem.
I assume I will need to file a support ticket for these changes, after the TC agrees to the changes?
Thanks!
Hope you are having a great week!
Patrick
