Svante Schubert: No urge, I just like to have the highest usablity for the ODF users, but I would not insist on it. Patrick: Andreas - a separate deliverable with default values - could have inconsistency Patrick: Francis - already generate text from the rng into the spec. Svante Schubert: @Andreas: So are HTML an transformed/duplicated instance and are similar generated from the OTD Svante Schubert: ^OTD^ODT Patrick: Francis - enumerate values in schema - but not default values Patrick: Francis - could use the xml default that defines default values to insert default values into the text Patrick: Francis - need to check if defaults are in the schema Patrick: Svante says the separate XML file in ODF 1.4 - for default value Patrick: Francis - implementers on 1.3 or 1.4 ? Patrick: Regina - put on comment list and website - exists this file in the github? Michael Stahl: dropped out of the call Patrick: Francis - if agreed - in the next edition, it will be that file that generates the text and not the other way around. Svante Schubert: The default values were once part of RNG and had to be removed prior to ODF 1.2 as parsers reinserted them to ODF XML instance files during parsing. Svante Schubert: The idea was to make them available (obvious for drive-by users looking on our deliverables) for machine/software access. Patrick: Svante, use this for 1.4 and move issue to 1.4. https://issues.oasis-open.org/browse/OFFICE-4081 Patrick: Need to know sooner rather than later to generate the text from the xml file - Patrick: Francis - needs to be a high priority for ODF 1.4.
