*Patrick:*  Regina: reading as follows: Applications may do automatic formatting depending on the type of a function. But such heuristic is not part of the standard. For the standard 'date' is only a subtype of 'number'. In case a consumer wants to know the formating desired by the author, it can use the office:value-type in the file markup.
