Found an interesting looking and recent paper: ÂA Survey of Communication Protocols for Internet of Things and Related Challenges of Fog and Cloud Computing Integration (https://arxiv.org/pdf/1804.01747.pdf).Â

30 pages and meaty looking, but may be useful reference info. Compares HTTP, MQTT, CoAP, AMQP, DDS, XMPP, and HTTP/2.0. Would have been great to see OpenDXL in the list, but one can't have everything.
