Subject: OpenC2 Happenings for week of May 21st

General Announcements:

Ballots:  Electronic ballots are now open for the review and approval of the latest Language Specification WD and the initial WD of the Stateless Packet Filter AP as CSDs. Please review and vote on these documents, as discussed at the 16 May TC meeting. The ballots can be found on the TC ballots page in Kavi:  https://www.oasis-open.org/apps/org/workgroup/openc2/ballots.php

The TC and AP-SC chairs continue to seek contributors to develop drafts of other actuator profiles. April Jackson is currently working on updating the draft SCN Controller AP to align with the current Language Specification draft.

The 6 June 2018 TC working meeting will include an in-depth demonstration and discussion of an OpenC2 command generator website and other proof-of-concept activities by Efrain Ortiz.

Planned Face-to-Face (F2F) Meetings:
  • July 25-26, 2018 in San Ramon, CA; hosted by New Context.
    • TC members should have received an invitation via EventBrite; please register if you plan to attend, whether remotely or in person.
    • The invitation includes a draft agenda; please provide feedback on the agenda.

  • October 1-2, 2018 will be held in conjunction with Borderless Cyber at Georgetown University.
    • David Darnell and Michael Stair will lead the planning for this event.

  • January 10-11, 2019 in Phoenix, AZ; hosted by NAESB.

Coming This Week:

Language Subcommittee (L-SC) meeting will occur on Tuesday May 22th at 1:00 pm Eastern. The expected focus is continued review of use cases and threads to flesh out targets and target specifiers.  The standing L-SC agenda is captured in Lucid.

Actuator Profile (AP-SC) meeting will occur on Wednesday May 23th at 1:00pm Eastern. The expected focus is continued review and discussion of the in-development Stateless Packet Filtering actuator profile.

Lucid Meeting Invitations:  SC and TC members should receive email notifications for their respective meetings directly from Lucid Meetings. If you are not receiving invitations via Lucid Emails, please notify Joe Brule or David Lemire ASAP and we will ensure that you are added. If you wish to routinely receive invitations to specific SC meetings, please join the SCs of interest in OASIS Kavi to ensure you receive future Lucid Meeting invites.

Questions about OpenC2 and how to get involved:  contact Joe Brule (jmbrule@radium.ncsc.mil), Sounil Yu (Sounil.yu@bankofamerica.com), or David Lemire (dave.lemire@g2-inc.com).

If you haven't joined the discussion on the OpenC2 Slack community and would like to, let us know and we will get you started.

Very Respectfully,

Sent by David Lemire on behalf of

Joe Brule & Sounil Yu, OpenC2 TC Co-Chairs
