Subject: OpenC2 Happenings for Week of 25 June 2018


General Announcements:

Language Specification Progress
  • The TC approved creating an eballot to vote on whether to accept the next CSD version the Language Spec. This ballot will run 11-20 July in order to conclude prior to the F2F meeting and give the editors time to review ballot comments.
  • The L-SC will continue reviewing and 'pruning' the actions and targets
  • The L-SC will discuss and make a recommendation regarding how best to retain information for the actions/ targets that are removed from Version 1 (put it in annex?)
Actuator Profiles Progress
  • We have two draft profiles (SLPF and SDN) currently posted on Google Docs
  • The TC approved creating an eballot to vote on whether to accept the next CSD version of SLPF AP. This ballot will run 11-20 July in order to conclude prior to the F2F meeting and give the editors time to review ballot comments.
  • We will have a draft routing AP posted on Google Docs in the near future
  • The AP SC is seeking volunteers to act as co-editors for the specs
Implementations SC Progress
  • An initial draft specification for OpenC2 message transfers over HTTPS has been posted to Google Docs for review and comment; a parallel version will be posted to GitHub soon
  • There is a Google Doc for collecting, refining, and organizing implementation environment requirements
  • Contributions of specification describing message transfers over other protocols are desired

Official CSD packages for the Language Specification (CSD04) and the Stateless Packet Filter Firewall AP (CSD01) have been published by OASIS.

Planned Face-to-Face (F2F) Meetings:

  • July 25-26, 2018 in San Ramon, CA; hosted by New Context.
    • Eventbrite registrations for this meeting have closed; 21 people registered to attend in person and 9 via remote connection
    • If you still wish to register, contact Trey Darley at New Context or TC co-chair Joe Brule

  • October 1-2, 2018 will be held in conjunction with Borderless Cyber at Georgetown University.  
    • David Darnell and Michael Stair will lead the planning for this event.
    • Attendance at Borderless Cyber is free for OASIS members

  • January 10-11, 2019 in Phoenix, AZ; hosted by NAESB.

Coming This Week:

Language Subcommittee (L-SC) meeting will occur on Tuesday June 26th at 1:00 pm Eastern. The L-SC will continue refining the current working draft and work on pruning actions and targets not supported by use cases. 

Actuator Profile Subcommittee (AP-SC) meeting will be held on Wednesday, June 27th, at 1:00pm Eastern. The AP-SC will work on discussing and refining the SLPF and SND Controller AP drafts.

Lucid Meeting Invitations:  SC and TC members should receive email notifications for their respective meetings directly from Lucid Meetings. If you are not receiving invitations via Lucid Emails, please notify Joe Brule or David Lemire ASAP and we will ensure that you are added. If you wish to routinely receive invitations to specific SC meetings, please join the SCs of interest in OASIS Kavi to ensure you receive future Lucid Meeting invites.
