Subject: OpenC2 Happenings for Week of 16 September 2019

ITEM ONE:ÂÂWith the recent departure of Jason Romano, nominations are open for a new Language Subcommittee co-chair. The new co-chair will complete Jason's term, which runs through March 2020. The election of a new co-chair will be held during this week's TC meeting. Please contact either of the TC co-chairs to nominate a candidate or discuss your interest in the co-chair position

ITEM TWO:Â The monthly OpenC2 Technical Committee meeting will be held this Wednesday, 18 September, with the usual calls at 11:00am and 9:00pm EDT. This is the monthly business meeting and counts toward voting rights. Highlights of this week's meeting:
  • Election of a new language subcommittee co-chair
  • A motion to create a new open repository
  • Information about a plugfest to be hosted by US CYBERCOM's DreamPort facility early next year
  • Discussion of the handling of common Section 1 content in our three current specifications and future specfications
ITEM THREE:ÂÂA call for post 1.0 Participation: Version 1.0 of the specifications have been posted, approved and announced, so let's move forward.
  • Do you have a product or service that's a candidate for producing / consuming OpenC2 commands and responses? Please consider sharing your Custom Actuator Profile or Proposed Committee specification. ÂPlease contact the AP-SC co-chairs (Alex Everett and Dave Kemp). Â
  • HTTPS is ubiquitous, but is there a message fabric that is more suitable for your cyber-ecosystem? Please consider sharing your proposed key management, transport solution and other implementation considerations with the IC-SC co-chairs (Dave Lemire and Michelle Barry)
  • Do you need OpenC2 to do more? Do you have a use case or scenario that we have not considered? Please share you use cases with the L-SC co-chairs (Jason Romano and Toby Considine)
ITEM FOUR:ÂÂAn agenda item for the 18 September TC meeting will be the future handling of the current common Section 1.0 content of the three specifications, and the potential creation of a separate architecture document. TC members are encouraged to submit suggestions or text describing OpenC2 architecture they believe appropriate for including in an updated architecture description, and to consider their preference for presenting the OpenC2 architecture.

ITEMÂ
FIVE:Â OASIS will be running a Borderless Cyber conference in Washington, D.C., 8-10 October at the National Press Club. This conference includes an Integrated Cyber track for the IACD community.Â
