Open CSA Steering Committee Nominations and Elections

The newly formed OASIS Open Composite Services Architecture (Open CSA)
Member Section announces three seats on the Steering Committee which are
open to nominations by OASIS members affiliated with the Open CSA Member
Section. 

The Open CSA Member Section Steering Committee will consist of seven
members. Initially, four seats will be filled by representatives from BEA
Systems, IBM, Oracle, and SAP, each of whom will serve a term of two years.
The three open seats will expire in one year, and will subsequently have two
year terms.

Any member of the Open SCA Member Section can nominate or be nominated as a
candidate for the Steering Committee, except to cause more than one
candidate or Steering Committee member representing any Member Section
Supporting Entity. See the Open CSA Rules of Procedure for details

OASIS Members may designate affiliation with Open CSA by having their
Primary Representative notify member-services@oasis-open.org . There is no
additional cost to affiliate with Open CSA and no dues allocations will be
made for this Member Section. Organizations that affiliate with Open CSA
will be eligible to vote for the Member Section Steering Committee and will
be recognized on the Member Section web site.


NOMINATION & ELECTION SCHEDULE

Nominations are open 11-25 April 2007
Elections will be held 26 April - 10 May 2007

NOMINATION PROCESS
Any member of the Open SCA Member Section can nominate a candidate by email
from their Primary Contact to nominations@oasis-open.org   

Prior to being confirmed as a candidate, nominees must:
1. Accept the nomination
2. Confirm they are able to meet the time commitments of the position
3. Provide a background and position statement to help voters know their
qualifications.
4. Be a member or employee representative of the Open SCA Member Section in
OASIS.   

All nominations and subsequent correspondence should be sent to
nominations@oasis-open.org  

ELECTION PROCESS

Three Steering Committee Members will be selected by vote of the members of
the Open SCA Member Section, using the Single Transferable Voting (STV)
process.  

Eligible voters will be sent voting instructions prior to and during the
ballot open period.

Results will be announced immediately after they are tabulated and
confirmed.
