Subject: RE: [opendocument-users] Identifying if a doc has tracked changes
Chris, You could checking if the content.xml contains a non-empty <text:tracked-changes> element (see section 4.6 of the ODF spec 1.1) Best regards, Bart ________________________________________ From: Chris Puttick [chris.puttick@thehumanjourney.net] Sent: Wednesday, October 21, 2009 3:00 PM To: opendocument-users Subject: [opendocument-users] Identifying if a doc has tracked changes Hi all Is there a simple machine-level way to check if an ODF document has tracked changes within it? Knowing the "state" of Track Changes itself would be useful, but this is a preservation/archives question, so specifically interested in automatically identifying if there are tracked changes currently stored in the document. Ideally with a method that covers any differences in how different ODF versions handle tracked changes. Knowing if there are comments still in the document would also be useful. Having originally hit this question from an archival perspective, it then occured to me that this could be of use in other areas e.g. checking of attachments before they get sent to the client/boss "This document contains unaccepted changes or comments. Are you sure you want to send it?" or a highlighting of the affected attachment.
