Subject: [OASIS Issue Tracker] (OSLCCCM-9) Do we need to define how how a global configuration provider finds the possible local configuration providers that might contribute to global configurations?

David Honey commented on OSLCCCM-9:
-----------------------------------

Jazz applications currently use the root services documents of its discovered friends. OSLC doesn't appear to support the concept of friends, which means there is no OSLC mechanism to find the service provider catalogs of collaborating applications. This should be discussed in the OSLC Core 3.0 TC.

An OSLC service can use a oslc:domain of oslc_config, and if it declares a creation factory for components and/or configurations, clients can discover them. Is this sufficient? Or should clients be able to determine the degree of support? Having some use cases would be helpful in discussing requirements.
