Subject: [OASIS Issue Tracker] (OSLCCORE-13) dialogs-v3.html final editing issues

    [ https://issues.oasis-open.org/browse/OSLCCORE-13?page=com.atlassian.jira.plugin.system.issuetabpanels:comment-tabpanel&focusedCommentId=59930#comment-59930 ]

James Amsden commented on OSLCCORE-13:
--------------------------------------

I updated the proposal to describe the relationship between Dialog oslc:resourceShape property and the ldp:constrainedBy Link header that would be returned on a POST or PUT that was not consistent with the resource shape. Resource shapes provide discoverable descriptions of what the server is expecting while ldp:constrainedBy is a link header describing what constraint was violated. These are complimentary properties.

I don't think there is any issue to be resolved. Rather I may have not fully understood the semantics of these properties. The dialog specification needs to describe the relationship between these properties and what a server is expected to do. But there may be no issue here that needs to be voted on and this item can be closed.

> 1. Section 5.3 Prefill, should oslc:resourceShape be ldp:constrainedBy to provide flexibility for how the dialog contents would be constrained? This would decouple dialogs from OSLC 2.0 Resource Shapes.
> Dialog property oslc:resourceShape is not sufficiently defined. It specifies the constraints for the dialog, but does not say how these constraints are specified in a standard way.
