Subject: [OASIS Issue Tracker] (OSLCCORE-122) Difference between oslc.select and oslc.properties could be clearer

    [ https://issues.oasis-open.org/browse/OSLCCORE-122?page=com.atlassian.jira.plugin.system.issuetabpanels:comment-tabpanel&focusedCommentId=67889#comment-67889 ]

Jad El-khoury commented on OSLCCORE-122:
----------------------------------------

Agree.
The example should also show the results of the query, and not just the query URI, as is currently the case.

Also, the provided Example 10 is confusing since it works on a single resource (http://example.com/bugs/4242) and not a queryBase. Consider replacing with the last example from the primer instead http://open-services.net/resources/tutorials/oslc-primer/query-mechanisms/ (See last example that discusses oslc.select).

Note also that the paragraph starting with "The oslc.select query parameter uses the same syntax as..." is almost a duplicate of the 3rd paragraph in section "7.5 oslc.select".

On final note, maybe trying to relate oslc.select with oslc.properties is not necessary, and adds to confusion, instead of clarifying. Maybe simply explaining the syntax of oslc.select - standalone - without reference to oslc.properties will do.

> The spec describes the difference between oslc.select and oslc.properties. However, it's not as clear as it could be and would benefit from an example.
