Subject: Seeking your feedback on draft OSLC Open Project charter

Members of the OSLC Member Section, Core and Domains TCs,Â

As most of you know, a discussion has been underway about transitioning the OSLC work at OASIS from the Technical Committee track to an OASIS Open Project.Â

The Open Project route will allow all the work to be consolidated into one organization structure (led by a Project Governing Board, driven by a Technical Steering Committee who oversees the multiple individual projects), alleviating some of the bandwidth limits you all have faced.Â

It also provides a more direct way for non-OASIS members to contribute to the work, removing OASIS membership as a gating factor.Â

And it still provides a pathway to OASIS Standard and the option for submitting to another SDO.Â

The first step is to craft a charter laying out the project's purpose, scope, and benefits to participants and to users of the work. Jim Amsden has put a draft together at https://docs.google.com/document/d/1n6d3kCfRNsyF535T05fJzgQrRVZSIk_5vuR5LT7f0yw/. Everyone is welcome to provide comments and suggestions on the charter.Â

This email solicits your feedback. Completing the charter and submitting it to OASIS is the threshold event that will allow us to get the project set up and rolling. To that end, we request that you provide your feedback by the end of the day this coming Wednesday, February 6th.Â

Also, if you are interested in playing an active role in managing the project, please let us know as well.Â

Many thanks and we look forward to your feedback.Â

Have a great weekend,Â

/chetÂ
