yet).
The nomination period closes tomorrow.

The message below explains both the

nominations
open til September 15 for OSLC Steering Committee seats
Now is your opportunity to nominate
someone to be part of the OSLC Steering Committee. Nominations must
be submitted and accepted by September 15 - one week from today.
In order to make the role of Steering
Committee member more clear, following are the OSLC Steering Committee
Roles and Responsibilities
§ Evangelize OSLC and the work
of the OSLC member section to the international community
§ Coordinate and expand the agenda of the OSLC member sections and
its affiliated technical committees
§ Provide value to all member section participants
§ Define the OSLC roadmap and if necessary partnerships with third
party organisations to ensure sustainability of OSLC
§ Act as the ultimate decision maker in all OSLC related issue (e.g.
organizational, technical, cost, management, etc.)
§ Articulate OSLC vision and goals
If you want to get involved and help
deliver on these responsibilities, please consider nominating yourself;
if you know someone else who would be a good candidate, nominate them.
Scott's note below describes what you
need to do (along with the complicated explanation of how many open seats
there will be), but here is the short two step guide to what you need to
do:
1. You (a member section member)
can nominate any existing member section member by sending an e-mail to
sc-election@oasis-open.org .
Member section members are individuals and organizations - therefore any
employee of a member section member organization can nominate herself/himself
or another employee of any member section organization.
If you nominate someone (other than yourself), please cc the nominee in
the nomination e-mail.
2. The nominee must formally accept with an e-mail response to sc-election@oasis-open.org
and oslc-ms@lists.oasis-open.org . Whatever bio information is warranted
should be provided as part of the acceptance, so the member section knows
enough about the nominee to consider them during the subsequent election
process (if the election is necessary).
OASIS will probe the nominee with a special notification to solicit their
acceptance.
If you are nominating yourself, you
can combine the two steps into one e-mail that includes your nomination,
acceptance, and bio - and is sent to both e-mail addresses (sc-election@oasis-open.org
and oslc-ms@lists.oasis-open.org).
Open OSLC Steering Committee seats be
filled during the second half of September, and the first meeting of the
new OSLC Steering Committee will occur in the first half of October.
thanks for your consideration,
John Wiegand
OSLC Steering Committee Chair

Steering Committee elections

Greetings,
Nominations for your Steering Committee will be open 1-15
September for 6 seats--as increased from 4 by your pending Rules of Procedure
change. PLEASE NOTE - Recognizing the timing of the ongoing effort
to increase the SC size, the following special arrangements are underway.
The nominations and election process described below will
be followed, and will consider that there are 6 seats available.
HOWEVER several accommodations will be made as determined by the following:
At the close of Nominations:
- If there are more than 6 candidates I will open
a ballot to elect 6
- If there are 6 or less Candidates at the close
of nominations, I will not open a ballot, however, you cannot seat the
candidates until this process completes.
Your Rules of Procedure change must be completed, including
approval by the OASIS Board prior to accepting the 5th and 6th candidates
as elected. .
The RoP revision is on the OASIS Board agenda for approval
22 September.
IF the RoP change is accepted, as expected, and:
- If there are 6 Candidates or less, they are accepted
and eligible to be seated at the next SC meeting.
- If there are more than 6 candidates, the open
ballot will conclude as originally created.
IF the RoP is NOT changed (either because of a failure
of the Member ballot or Board vote) then:
- If there is an ongoing ballot (open 15-30 September),
I will modify the ballot to accept 4 winners
- If there are 5 or 6 Candidates, I will open a
14 day ballot to elect 4
- if there are 4 candidates or less, they would
be accepted and eligible to be seated at the next SC meeting
Sorry for the complexity of this process as we strive
to adhere to the Member Section Policy while accommodating your desired
increased SC size.
Thanks for your patience with this,
Scott...

Greetings,
the OSLC Steering Committee nominations start on September
1 and will close on 15 September. NOTE the
new policy does not provide for the nomination period to be extended--all
nominations MUST be received in this period.
There are SOME seats eligible for nomination--the four
seats shown below as expiring in 2015 are available for nomination and
there may be two additional seats made available by the ongoing ballot
to increase the SC size https://www.oasis-open.org/apps/org/workgroup/oslc-ms/ballot.php?id=2846.
You may nominate any current Member Section Member by
email to sc-election@oasis-open-open.org
Nominations must be accepted by the nominee, by email
to both sc-election@oasis-open.org
and oslc-ms@lists.oasis-open.org
Nominees are encouraged to share some background information to help
the voters know who they are.
If there are more than four or six (as determined by the
ballot noted above) nominations voting will take place 16-30 September
via a closed ballot. Otherwise, the candidates are automatically selected.
