Discussions

  • Revision of the specification draft
    • Kamimura briefly summarized the current situation of the latest work on revising the specification draft. Then the following topics were discussed.
    • Whether treating containers as the first class resource is right or not. Other OSLC specifications such as CM and QM do not treat them as the first class resources. The topic was discussed at the last TC call and it was agreed to keep the current descrition at that time. This topic came up today again since keeping the current description makes some explanation in the conformance clause has become complex. Also, Kamimura pointed out there are properties in Figure 7 that have domain resources as their domains and containers as their ranges. This is not very natural since containers are infrastructure to support domain resources. Wakao-san observed that the current specification treats descriptions of containers as normative one that actually should belong to implementation. Kamimura recall that Jim Amsden commented before that describing containers in the current way is not recommended. After some discussion, it was agreed to look into the possiblity of removing containers in our vocabulary and make an estimate of the work needed for the revision.
    • Wakao-san looked at two topics from the action items from the last TC call. One is the requirement on containers to be either basic containers or just any containers. This is related to the above topic. If we revise the spec to not to treat containers as the first class resources, this will be unimportant question. The secon topic is whether we should also include "Status, State and State Predicates" and "Labels for Relationships" sections as in other specicifations such as CM and QM. While CM and QM have needs on them. the need of PROMCODE on them are not imminent. Therefore, it was agreed to leave these sections out of our spec.
    • Matsuoka-san reported that Fujitsu's implementation is fine with all the comformance clause items at this stage.
    • Kamimura uploaded the working draft that has customized label for conformance clause as well as some fixed typos. It was realized that the draft does not have shape tables and no content in vocabulary section.  Investigation is needed.
  • Next several steps in our TC process
    • After creating the revision of the draft first. TC needs to review it and vote to make it as CSD. There is a formal step to do this including the motion with specified wording for record. Aoyama-san needs to follow that.
    • Then, Aoyama-san need to make a report to OASIS TC Office.
    • Once OASIS TC Office accepts the draft as CSD, TC can vote to make it as a draft for public review.

Actions

  • Matsumoto-san needs to report the result of his actions from the last TC call
  • Kamimura will look into the work needed to remove containers as the first class resources. The work needs to include scope of impact on the documentation, and the vocabulary. There will be main impact in normative chapers, i.e., Chapters 5 and 6, and possibly in Chapters 7 and Appendix A.
  • Kamimura will investigate the problems with the uploaded specificaiton draft and try to fix them.
