Discussions

Revision of the specification draft

  • Kamimura revised the specification draft by removing containers as PROMCODE resources defined in the specification. This is motivated by the fact that an implementation based on OSLCCore2 does not have to implement the containers as described in the previous version of the specification draft. Elimination of containers also simplifies the specification. The numbers of classes and properties in the PROMCODE name space are reduced from 26 to 14, and from 40 to 29, respectively with the revision.
  • To further simplify the confirmance clause, Kamimura proposed to elimanate the distinction between the standard server and full server. This is motivated by the fact that the difference between these two is the support of Risk and Issue resources, these resources are needed in almost every situation of project management, and the elimination makes the conformace clause description much simpler. Yabuta-san pointed out that in some cases, risks and issues may not be reported in occational project management activities since they are managed at separate regular timing. It was argued that there is sufficient flexibility in the current model and supporting risk and issue resources does not mean that these resourcest have to be included in every report. In the end, attendees agreed to the proposal.
  • A section is added for conformance clause, namely "Section 5.9 PROMCODE server capabilites". This content exists in other specification such as QM and CM. There are two MUST clauses in the section, one on Discovery and the other that requires oslc: Services and oslc: ServiceProviderCatalog resources. It was agreed that the first one is fine with existing implementations, but the second one needs more examination.
  • Wakao-san attempted to revise Appendix A to accomodate the elimation of containers from the PROMCODE specification. He had some issue with latest version of pandoc tool and has not completed the revision. Kamimura proposed to use "Fgure 7 PROMCODE LDP containers" in the previous specification draft in the Appendix A. Wakao-san agreed to the proposal.
  • Kamimura proposed current chapter 7 and Appendix A be combined to create a new document separate from the specification document. Main reason for that is that these parts describe use cases and system flows under some assumed implementation, and do not contain normative content. Also, by separating these from the specificaiton document, a public review can focus on the normative content. The proposed was agreed by the attendees.
  • Matsumoto-san reported his analysis on some conformance clause items, i.e., updating subset of properties and updating multi-values properties. Since these are MAY items, he is fine with these items.

Actions

  • Matumoto-san and Matsuoka-san wil examine once again to validate that it is fine with their implementations on all MUST clauses in the conformance table in Section 8.2.
  • Wakao-san will complete the revision of Appendix A. He will fix his environemnt to fix the problem with pandoc version.
  • Kamimura and Waka-san will work to combine Chapter 7 and Appendix A to create a separate document form the specificaiton document.
