Discussions

1. Update - public review and next steps

A public review of the current CSD ended on August 22nd, 2021 and no comments were received. As a result, we can proceed to next steps. Kamimura summarized next step activities that need to take place by revising a powerpoint slides "Standard Process with TC V.2" uploaded at https://www.oasis-open.org/apps/org/workgroup/oslc-promcode/documents.php Our next focus will be to request a vote to make the current CSD as CS (Commitee Specification) and to collect information on three implementations for SoU. NEC and Fujitsu have done their implementation and will submit letters as their SoU. The third SoU was also discussed that is described next.

2. Excel Adapter for SoU

Third possibility of SoU is the Excel Adapter tool. The tool was created by IBM some years ago and used to validate the interoperability of PROMCODE model between two different companies. The implementation used Eclipse RIO tool, but RIO is no longer active, outdated and not maintained. Wakao-san and Horiuchi-san looked at it and found out that it needs good amount of work to get it working with the latest PROMCODE specification. It was suggest to look at a possibility of utilizing an existing PROMCODE server for that. Wakao-san and Horiuchi-san will work to create a realistic implementation plan.

3. PROMCODE assets at Nanzan University

Yabuta-san reported that there are some assets at Nanzan University on PROMCODE that include various documents, papers, meeting reports. These assesta are accessible at a server with domain name promcode.org in Aoyama Lab of Nanzan University. Nanzan University paid fee for use of the domain name. When Nanzan University ends their support of PROMCODE project, we need to move assets to other place and to pay the domain name fee. Yabuta-san continues to communicate with Nakamura-san of Fujitsu on a new server to host the assets.

Actions

  • Matsumoto-san and Matsuoka-san will try to create letters for SoU using some samples given in the slides mentioned above.
  • Wakao-san and Horiuchi-san will create a plan to reimplement the Excel Adapter for the third SoU.
