Subject: Re: [pki-tc-chair] RE: OASIS PKI TC Survey Results and Follow-up (ACTION REQUESTED)

Thanks, Steve. Your white paper is certainly illuminating.
Easier enrollment and lighter weight PKI for specific
applications would address many of the concerns raised
in our survey. Of course, some obstacles remain. But for
many applications this may be a good solution.

As for getting involved with the OASIS PKI TC, nothing
could be easier! You or your employer will need to join
OASIS, but the membership fees are quite low. $250 a year
for an individual, organizations on a sliding scale from
$1,000 to $5,750. Then you can join the TC and participate
in our email discussions and conference calls. Specify that
you want to be part of the PKI Member Section when you join.

In September, we'll be reviewing the results of our surveys
and deciding what action to take. I expect we'll put together
an Action Plan and try to sign up customers, vendors, industry
groups, standards groups, and such to help implement it. We
could use a member in Australia to help establish contacts there.

Please let me know if you have any more questions. And
don't forget to complete the follow-up survey!

Thanks,

Steve

I've researched ferro-magnetics -- it's even more complicated than PKI. I even found a 40+ page FAQ on the technology!
