Subject: Is PKI rebounding?



Several people mentioned on the conference call today that PKI is 
rebounding strongly.  I definitely agree.  With the US Govt Personal Id 
Verification system, plus tens of millions of EMV smartcards going live in 
Europe next year, we will start to see PKI in everyone's pockets.  

I think it's time we lobbied the RSA Conference organisers for PKI to be 
reinstated as a stream in its own right! 

For a few years now, it's been unpalatable for vendors to promote PKI.  
There are very few self-described PKI vendors exhibiting at RSA 2005.  And 
PKI topics tend to get buried with "Identity Management" as if the 
speakers are a bit embarassed by it!
