Hello Everyone,

These are exciting times for the PKI Forum. The opportunities to promote 
the PKI technology within a rich context are presented by the recent merger 
of our organization with OASIS.  I will not be going forward with you, but 
urge you all to become actively involved. It is critical that those of you 
in the user community keep your needs in front of the technical community 
so that the resulting standards truly address the business requirements you 
expect to see enabled by them.

It has been a pleasure to be associated with the Forum over the past 9 
months. As I said in Dallas, we can be proud of this years accomplishments. 
We have established ourselves as a source of vendor neutral PKI information 
for the business community and the downloads from the site verify that we 
are on target. The final  two papers that await your review are on their way.

Attached is the current draft of the paper "Digital Signatures as THE 
Electronic Signature". I would appreciate your input by COB November 25, 
2002. In particular I would ask for the following input (along with all 
other comments of course):
	1. Title: All suggestions are welcome if the current title seems 
inappropriate.
           2. Legislative facts: If there is anyone in the audience who can 
verify my legislative facts to assure they are up to date, I would 
appreciate hearing that you have done so.
