Please note that the
European aerospace industry will be meeting with Prostep ivip on 28 April to
discuss the feasibility of migrating AP214 to the modular architecture. It
may be helpful to have PLCS technical experts available to join by
teleconference.
There is a strong
push to move towards using PLCS-based implementations for PLM exchange and
sharing, but it appears that EADS has a number of AP214 based
implementations, which will need to be addressed.
There is also
concern at the possible divergence between the more mature OMG PLM services and
PLCS Web services - an urgent decision needs to be made on which approach to use
for the new BoostAeroSpace hub. It seems that the different nomenclature
of the ARM-based services is an issue.
Finally, the groups
implementing PLCS are very keen to ensure that configuration control process
extends across the edition 2 modules, and the DEXlib templates, reference data
and capabilities. They are also interested in information on supporting
toolsets for the web services.
All of the above has
implications on technical oversight and the supporting
services.
