HANN AWARD Ben Kassel (Code 2230) and Ted Briggs (Intergraph Corporation) will receive the Elmer L. Hann Award at the Society of Naval Architects and Marine Engineers (SNAME) 2008 Annual Meeting for their paper, "An Alternate Approach to the Exchange of Ship Product Model Data". The Elmer L. Hann Award is presented by the SNAME Journal of Ship Production Committee for the best paper delivered at the Ship Production Symposium. Using a combination of ISO 10303 STEP AP239, AP214, and reference data libraries, the Navy can use efforts underway in the much larger automotive and aerospace industries.
