PLCSlib CVS or Subversion

During the recent PLCS implementers forum and then the OASIS TC telecom, the issue of software configuration management software used on PLCSlib came up.

In particular why CVS why not Subversion (SVN)?

The suggestion was that we should migrate to SVN principally because it will work through Https and unlike CVS will not require the use of SSH. This should therefore be more accessible through corporate firewalls. There are other pros/cons of the two SCM systems, but this seemed to be the main issue.

Does anyone have any strong objection to us migrating from CVS to SVN?
