The reason that DSML is considered relavent is that some current provisioning systems and account management systems use LDAP to represent provisioned accounts. Many of the original XRPM participants (including myself) felt that even if LDAP was not used directly, the LDAP way of representing schema and data was a good model for use in a provisioning standard.
