Subject: DSML schema.
Two subsections within Concepts mention DSML: - 2.3.1 Schema - 2.4 Profile The first paragraph of 2.3.1 Schema currently reads as follows: The schema for each target defines the XML structure of the objects (PSO) <#_Provisioning_Service_Object> that the target may contain. SPMLv2 does not specify a required format for the schema. For example, a target schema could be XML Schema or (a target schema could be) Directory Service Markup Language (DSML) as defined by the document “DSML Binding for SPMLv2”. Each target schema includes a schema namespace. The schema namespace tells any requestor that recognizes the schema namespace how to interpret the schema. I have changed the first part of 2.4 Profile to read as follows: SPMLv2 defines two “profiles” in which a requestor and provider may exchange SPML protocol: - DSML 2.0 as defined in the document “DSML Binding for SPMLv2”. - XML Schema A requestor and a provider may exchange SPML protocol in any profile to which they agree. 1) How should I reword these sections? 2) How would you define the term "profile"? What does a profile determine beyond a schema to which a requestor and provider agree? How does this differ from a "binding"? Thanks, Gary
