Subject: Groups - Bi-weekly PSTC meeting modified

We did not achieve quorum today. Participation was good, but the voting
rights of some attendees had lapsed.

Discussed the rough draft of the standard schema (SIMPLEST) informally and
in a non-binding manner. See minutes.

 -- Gary Cole

3) Review "RESTPML" draft:

- RESTful API: XSD
4) Discuss priorities for work yet to do on draft:

5) AOB

1) Roll
- Gary took roll.
- Quorum was *not* achieved (3 of 8 voting members attended).
- Voting status changes:
-- Thomas Smith lost voting status

2) Approval of July 18 Meeting Minutes
* Not performed (because we lack quorum).

3) Review "RESTPML" draft:
* Not performed (because we lack quorum).

4) Discuss priorities for work yet to do on draft:
* Not performed (because we lack quorum).

5) AOB
* Attendees discussed a rough draft of SIMPLEST on the wiki:
  - discussion was informal because we lack quorum)

Discussed Staging or Sections of SIMPLEST Schema:
- Current sections are:
  -- Basic Identity Management (Person)
-- Enterprise Identity Management (adds Organization, Role and Group)
-- Account Management: (adds Target and Account)
-- Provisioning and Compliance (adds Access-Policy and Access-Privilege)
- Intent of staging or sections seems clear:
-- Start with the area(s) of most general interest.
-- End with the area(s) of most narrow interest.
- Richness of SIMPLEST offers valuable advantages:
-- Ability to distinguish between Person and Account.
-- Ability to represent/manage Relationships explicitly.

Discussed Complex Attributes of Person entity:
- Certain attributes have sub-attributes, e.g.:
-- address has street-address, city, state, zip, country.
- Some attributes have meta-data, e.g.:
-- One value of email address is primary.
-- Each value of email address may have a type (work, home, ).
- One approach is to delimit components within each value.
-- Compatible with DSML model of attribute having only scalar values.
-- Requires client to understand/parse the structure of each value.
- Another approach is also shown: Open-ended Relationships:
-- Each relationship has an explicit set of attributes.
-- Each instance has an explicit set of attribute-values.
- Other approaches are possible (e.g., object-class as attribute-syntax).
- Attendees preferred the Open-Ended Relationship approach:
-- Since we need a Relationship mechanism anyway, use it here also.
-- Should be easy to model as sub-objects in JSON.

Gary agreed to update the draft of SIMPLEST:
- Address/eliminate redundancy between complex attributes of Person and open-ended relationships of Person. Suggest one approach if possible.
- Add first cut at attributes, relationships of other entities.
