Some news from the ebTWG front...

Some of you may already have seen this announcement (I believe Lisa mentioned it during our first conference call), but for those who have not: a new eBTWG Core Components project team called "Core Components Supplements" was announced recently.  I believe that the work that this team is undertaking will help us in our continued understanding of Core Components.

More details:

Purpose:  To complete the two supplementary annexes to the UN/CEFACT Core Components Technical Specifications: (1) Specification Validation Example and (2) the Beginning Library of Core Components.

Deliverables:

        - Validation of the Technical Specification through Example (Business Process Models through to Core Components)

        - Specification for and beginning Library of Core Components

Dear eBTWG members,

The eBTWG Steering Committee is happy to announce the approval of the Core
Components Supplements Project. The StC also supported the nomination of
Melanie McCarthy as project team lead. Attached is a copy of the approved
project proposal. Please feel free to distribute this announcement to other
interested parties.

eBTWG is now initiating the "Call for participation and contribution" in
order to ensure that all parties interested in participation and/or
contributing to the project can do so. The call will end 4 February 2002.

If you wish to join the project team please send an email to Melanie
McCarthy <melanie.mccarthy@gm.com>.

If you wish to make a contribution to the project, forward an electronic
copy to Melanie and myself. To satisfy UN/CEFACT's goal of openness,
everyone that makes a contribution must agree to remove any IPR constraints
or restrictions that might be associated with their  contribution.

The project team is scheduled to have its first meeting as part of the eBTWG
meeting, 4-8 February in Seattle, WA, USA.
