Farrukh,

Bad assumption!

XMI is an internal way for tool vendors to exchange models;
therefore it contains alot of vector information to draw the
pictures with.

Meta Object Facility is more for OO (aka Java) programming 
interfacing and is very complex.

That really is the whole crux here I was mentioning earlier.
OMG currently has an RFP out to try and address some of
these shortcomings - but that's not even been awarded yet.

That's why our simple XML serialization of Table 6-1 will
work in the meantime - until something else comes along
a year or so from now.

Apparently UML 2.0 is also under development.
