Subject: Re: [regrep-cc-review] Property Qualifier

<Quote>
Apparently the BIE Property is the instantiations of the variant basic
properties that differnetiate the propert/qualifier representations in
ABIEs. So, again, if I'm understanding correctly it is the entire
property/qualifier combination that would be registered as an entity and
associated to one-to-many ABIEs.

Thanks Paul - I personally believe that the CCTS spec went too far on
this one, and crossed the "implementation line". I believe the spec
should have simply specified the attributes, and placed them where they
made most sense - tightly coupled to the pertientn entities (BCC, etc.).
There are a plethora of ways to implement this to make one-to-many
associations easier, which I believe should be left up to
implementations. I mentioned some of these ways in my previous e-mail.

This further reinforces our handling of Properties - that they will not
be stored as entities in the registry, and their attributes will be
placed with the entities in the registry which they most closely belong.

Unless anyone has any other perspectives to offer, I see this issue
closed.

Looking at the attributes of the entity in the figure it should probably have been named "BIE Property Qualifier". By storing the property qualifiers the registry could construct ABIEs in an automated fashion by reusing standardized property term qualifiers. And the rule that makes the resultant ABIE unique regardless of the qualifier order makes it easier on the developer to be certain that they are not duplicating another ABIE where the registry happened to place the property qualifiers in a different order. Does anyone else see that, or am I off base?
