Farrukh, A major incentive for combining tasks (2) and (3) and to investigate merging browse and drill-down query with filter query is to avoid having two separate but overlapping query support as we extend the browse and drill-down query. Should we find it feasible to combine the two, we may want to simply call the combined one "Query Support". Then, we will additionally have "SQL Query Support" as in the current spec, and develop "XQuery Support" in the future. Please feel free to give me a call if you have more questions.
