Subject: Query subteam
Team,
It appears that we have a consensus on our expanded scope and high-priority
tasks. Therefore, first, the name of our subteam from hereon will simply be
"Query", matching exactly with our mailing list :) Second, I would like to
propose the following specific, immediate tasks:
(1) Merge Browse and Drill Down Query Support (8.1) into Filter Query
Support (8.2).
(2) Revise Filter Query Support, if needed, to be consistent with RIM
1.1.
(3) Develop ContentBasedQuery as a new component of FilterQuery. Reuse
Appendix D if sensible.
(4) Remove Appendix D.
Our goal will be to have a revised Chapter 8 (I would like to suggest that
we rename it to "Query Management Service" for simplicity and to avoid
confusion with OQL) in time for RS 1.1.
Since Len has already started work on (1), I would like to ask Len to lead
(1) and (2). If any of you would like to lead (3) and (4), please let me
know.
Please let me know your comments.
BTW, for our next telecon, I have it set up for next Friday at 9 am PCT. If
you prefer to have it on next Tuesday, please let me know by tomorrow.
