Subject: Re: Query Teleconference at 9am Pacific Time
Query team, Our scheduled teleconference this morning was lightly attended -- in view of today's memorial events throughout the country, I was the only one who called in. However, following from the agreement at our Sept 7 teleconference to "merge" Browse and Drill Down Query with Filter Query in time to include in the Sept 17 Registry Services spec before our Sept 24-26 F2F, I assigned myself some action items. Based on the proposals identified below, I'll do the following: 1) Submit complete revised text for ebRS Section 8.2.2, RegistryEntryQuery, to the Registry Services editor by Sept 17. 2) Submit complete revised text for ebRS Section 8.2.4, ClassificationNodeQuery, to the Registry Services editor by Sept 17. 3) Submit complete revised text for ebRS Section 8.2.9, Registry Filters, to the Registry Services editor by Sept 17. 4) Prepare complete revised text for ebRS Section 8.2.6, OrganizationQuery, and distribute to the "regrep" email list in time for consideration at the Sept 24-26 F2F. 5) Prepare discussion documents for other sub-sections of ebRS Section 8.2, Filter Query Support, in time for the Sept 24-26 F2F. I believe that RegistryPackageQuery, AuditableEventQuery, and ReturnRepositoryItem will need substantial revision in light of impending changes to ebRIM. I'm not 100% convinced of the value of having complete Query examples in a formal specification like ebRS. I think they are important, but more appropriate in a tutorial document that is not part of the formal specification. Does anyone else share this opinion? The specification could be substantially shortened if examples were kept in a separate document.
