Ah!  O.K.  A quite general way to support this would be to use OWL
restrictions to specify parts of a Where clause for a query.  This in
turn would suggest a query server architecture that incorporated a 
Description Logic reasoner (to classify OntologyNode objects as 
members of the restriction).  Of course, this would all be very 
ontology language specific.
