Subject: Re: Ground rules for TC/FTF planning

Hello All,

I looked through the OASIS bylaws to answer Joel's questions.  The bylaws can be found at: http://www.oasis-open.org/who/bylaws.shtml .  There does not appear to be any established ground rules for planning TC's FTF meetings; except that a TC is required to have at least one FTF each year.  There are rules for new TCs; however we are not a new TC.

However, we should develope a planned schedule of our conference calls and FTF meetings.  The reason I said the July dates were tentative was because I realized that we didn't have as many folks on the last conference call as I would liked to have had to get a sense of folks' availability for the July dates.    So far I've had one response indicating non-availability.  Any others?

My reasoning for proposing  this FTF on the West Coast (Sun is offering a Menlo Park site) is that OASIS is offering space at the XML 2001 in Orlando, December 9-14.  If we have a FTF between those dates, we can meet somewhere in the middle. (Sally has offered space at AIAG in Detroit.)  All of this is tentative based on member's availability.

If you all come prepared with calendars in hand to the June 22 conference call, we can do some planning.

advance notice as possible, duration of meeting, location of meetings, etc.
At any time, I would like to be aware of the next two FTF meetings.
