Subject: RE: Naming Registry Roles
All this time I thought "this stuff" was meant for software developers to use. They are the ones who need to be absolutely clear on the terminology, then use the "plain, sensible business speak" in their user manuals for the SME end users. As far as the other terms go, as simple and as accurate as possible seems best. <<<<<<<<<<< I prefer plain sensible business speak; "people who know ISO 11179" are a tiny elite group, I'd confidently say 99.999% of people in business have never heard of ISO 11179. We should have simple terms that the average business user is familiar with. Operator, Librarian, Contributor, Subscriber, Owner are every day terms. This stuff is designed for SME's to use.
