Title: ebXML Registry TC Meeting notes 5-16-2002
Attendees
Kathryn, Anne, Nikola, Farrukh, Zach, Joel M., Suresh, Sanjay
1. Approval of minutes from last meeting
2. Barcelona meeting discussion
-
Deferred since Sally was not online.
3. Version 2.01 discussion
-
Version 2.01 is for internal review only and should be viewed as an interim
version
-
Changes are bug fixes only.
-
The changes are described in the distribution potsing. All issues are logged
in the current issues list posted.
-
Delta between 2.01 specs and 2.1 will be small
-
Start vote on June 10
-
Have TC approval by June 17
-
Kathryn: Include a statement on TC web site that 2.1 bug fix release will
be available mid-June
-
Joel: State in issues list what version each issue is addressed
-
Farrukh: Should we have an errata management process documented
-
Joel: OASIS does not have an errata process, therefore we don't have an
errata process. He has submitted ideas to Karl on errata process improvements
for OASIS. Since we will be doing a 3.0 spec soon there is no point in
sending 2.1 for OASIS approval.
-
General agreement that it is better to work with OASIS to improve errata
process. No need to define TC specific errata process..
4. Version 3.0 priority work items - status
4.1 Event Notification
-
Nikola: Registry needs event notification. But so does messaging, CPP/A
and others. Should we think about broadening this.
-
Farrukh: What this is begging for is a separate TC for Event Notification.
-
Suresh: Have you thought about mapping to BPSS?
-
Kathryn: Maybe Sally should bring this up in Barcelona.
-
Farrukh: What if the same people in registry TC who would have worked in
EVent notification subteam form a new TC on it. They do same work but with
added burden to support additional use cases.
-
Sanjay: maybe too big a burden
-
Suresh: Does registry assume communications are synchronous
-
Farrukh: No
-
Suresh: Then are we not doing event notification
-
Kathryn: suggested that sub-team make a recommendation on how to proceed.
-
Farrukh: recommends that we start a separate sub-team.
4.2 Federated Regstry
-
Initial informaton model proposed
-
No comments yet other than Zachs
-
Zach: Will be making more comments soon
4.3 InfoModel Type Extensibility
-
Farrukh: Initial kickoff message with use cases posted. No comments thus
far.
4.4 Cursor Support In Queries
-
Farrukh: Initial kickoff message with use cases posted. No comments thus
far.
4.5 URL Interface
-
Farrukh: This proposal from Matt is farthest along.
-
Kathryn: We should all be reviewing it and sening comments.
-
Suresh: concerned about id part of URL interface.
-
Farrukh: The the need for more flexible ids is an orthogonal issue.
-
Sanjay: Is the ability to specify queries in a URL interface in or out
of scope
-
Farrukh: Queries are out of scope right now
-
Kathryn: Take it to to the sub-team and make recommendations
-
Anne: Lack of participation in sub-team activities is not good. Should
we schedule an f2f.
-
Kathryn: Did we plan to have one in September. How about August 26th XML
One conference
-
All: Think this may be a good time for an f2f (Suresh will be on vacation).
5. cc-review subteam report
-
Kathryn: Was at cc-review meeting. We looked through CC documents. Did
not find any show stoppers. Plan to have a document ready for the registry
TC to review on the CC specs and then send it to CC team.
-
Suresh: What special things does the registry need to support
-
Kathryn: have not found anything we are missing yet
-
Farrukh: CC specs refer to 1.0 registry specs. Should refer to registry
2.0
-
Kathryn: Will look into it at next meeting
-
6. Other subteam reports
-
Sanjay: Have not started rolling on security team yet. Will start work
with Suresh
7. Other issues/items
Next meeting
-
Farrukh: Will not be attending as I am traveling
-
Kathryn: Sally will be in Barcelona. Does anyone have anything she should
brig up with ebTWG group?
-
