Yellow Dragon Software has a current RFI proposal in to use the Common Alerting Protocol within an ebXML Registry in order to facilitate notifications of severe weather/disaster events to both government and civilian contacts. The proposal is under the domain of the Canadian Governments ( Transport Canada ). It is easily foreseeable that this model is the best way to implement most emergency management alerts/events notifications since there are several key things that can be accomplished using ebXML Registry and messaging.
