Subject: Current Barriers to *Widespread* Adoption of XML Registries
A few months ago I posted something here on the Registry TC listserv on the subject of current ebXML Registry implementations. The overriding sentiment was that there are currently a low (let's say "low" means less than 15) number of implementations, but we foresee this growing. Taking a step back from ebXML for a second: I think it's fair to say that today in October 2003 there is a lack of widespread adoption of XML registries - that is, we cannot say that "everyone is using them". If one does not agree with this sentiment that's perfect fine in my eyes - but for those that do (or are inclined to for purposes of this thread): what do you believe are the barriers to widespread adoption of XML registries? Thanks for your insight, Joe
