Subject: [no subject]

I have asked Farrukh to draft a resolution including the required items =
in the next several days for the TC to review and discuss. This draft =
will be discussed at our next TC telecon (December 18th) so the =
resolution and discussion can be documented in the minutes. We can =
start the ballot process on it that day; the minimum voting time is 7 =
days, so we will need to decide if the ballot should be extended due to =
the holiday coming up.

If the resolution is approved, I will contact OASIS to get the list and =
pages set up for the subcommittee.

Please let Farrukh know if you have any suggestions for the resolution.

Thanks,
Kathryn

Subject: [regrep] Alignment with Semantic Web

Team,

It has been some time since we discussed the proposed V4 task of=20
aligning ebXML Registry with the semantic web technologies such as RDF=20
and OWL.

I have been informally engaged in brainstorming and architectural=20
conversation with several team members informally on how we can add=20
support in RIM for RDF descriptions and OWL ontology's. Several external =

entities have also informally expressed strong interest in seeing ebXML=20
Registry align with and support RDF and OWL in private exchanges and in=20
some cases expressed interest in formal liaising with a focus on=20
semantic web. I have also been asked if there exists a mailing list=20
where people can join as observers to keep up with our work on alignment =

with the Semantic Web.

In light of these developments I propose that we formalize our work on=20
aligning ebXML Registry with Semantic Web Technologies by creating a=20
"Semantic Web" subcommittee and beginning our discussions openly on that =

mailing list. I also volunteer to chair this subcommittee if the team=20
approves it.

Please share your thoughts, questions and comments on this thread. =
Thanks.

Regards,
Farrukh
