I have asked Farrukh to draft a resolution including the required items = in the next several days for the TC to review and discuss. This draft = will be discussed at our next TC telecon (December 18th) so the = resolution and discussion can be documented in the minutes. We can = start the ballot process on it that day; the minimum voting time is 7 = days, so we will need to decide if the ballot should be extended due to = the holiday coming up. If the resolution is approved, I will contact OASIS to get the list and = pages set up for the subcommittee. Please let Farrukh know if you have any suggestions for the resolution. Thanks, Kathryn -----Original Message----- From: Farrukh Najmi [mailto:Farrukh.Najmi@Sun.COM] Sent: Thursday, December 04, 2003 11:50 AM To: email@example.com Subject: [regrep] Alignment with Semantic Web Team, It has been some time since we discussed the proposed V4 task of=20 aligning ebXML Registry with the semantic web technologies such as RDF=20 and OWL. I have been informally engaged in brainstorming and architectural=20 conversation with several team members informally on how we can add=20 support in RIM for RDF descriptions and OWL ontology's. Several external = entities have also informally expressed strong interest in seeing ebXML=20 Registry align with and support RDF and OWL in private exchanges and in=20 some cases expressed interest in formal liaising with a focus on=20 semantic web. I have also been asked if there exists a mailing list=20 where people can join as observers to keep up with our work on alignment = with the Semantic Web. In light of these developments I propose that we formalize our work on=20 aligning ebXML Registry with Semantic Web Technologies by creating a=20 "Semantic Web" subcommittee and beginning our discussions openly on that = mailing list. I also volunteer to chair this subcommittee if the team=20 approves it. Please share your thoughts, questions and comments on this thread. = Thanks. --=20 Regards, Farrukh |=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D= =3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D= =3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D| | = | | Going to XML 2003, Dec 8-12, Philadelphia PA? = | | = | | Come see a very cool presentation and demo: = | | "Epidemic Management Using OASIS ebXML, UBL and XACML Standards = | | = | | When: Wednesday, December 10 / 2:00 PM - 3:30 PM = | | = | | Details at: = | | http://www.xmlconference.org/xmlusa/2003/interopdemos_oasis.asp#4 = | | = | |=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D= =3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D= =3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D| To unsubscribe from this mailing list (and be removed from the roster of = the OASIS TC), go to = http://www.oasis-open.org/apps/org/workgroup/regrep/members/leave_workgro= up.php.
