Subject: RE: [regrep] ebXML Registry tutorial - update
Again, I think it is imperative to be clear that what we are talking about is profiles of Domain Specific Information Models. Otherwise, it could easily be interpreted as meaning that it is talking about how to develop a profile of the Registry itself. Without knowing any better, the best I would gather from a title like that is that perhaps it is somehow talking about doing something analogous to how WS-I develops profiles of WS specs, but in this case its about a profile of the Registry spec. For example, I sat in on the LegalXML TC on Friday. Based on that experience, I can honestly tell you that I am convinced that with a title such as below, they would have no clue that such a document might be of any interest to them. Now, these are very technical people, but their expertise is in the Justice Global XML schema. They don't know beans about the Registry other that they probably are going to need one. I think that the test has to be that whatever you call it, it has to be clear enough such that folks like those who were in that LegalXML TC meeting would be able to grasp from the title alone how that document applies to them. We missed you at the f2f. Chiusano Joseph wrote: > How about: "ebXML Registry: Usage Profile Development Guide" Somehow "Usage Profile" does not capture it for me as it implies a profile for usage of the registry rather than a profile for XXX (substitute WSRP, Web Services, OGC, IHE, HL7 etc. for XXX). So not my top choice but I could live with it. > > Joe > > > Joseph Chiusano > > Booz Allen Hamilton > > Visit us online@ http://www.boozallen.com <http://www.boozallen.com/> > > > ---------------------------------------------------------------------- > -- > *From:* Carl Mattocks [mailto:carlmattocks@checkmi.com] > *Sent:* Fri 4/29/2005 11:46 AM > *To:* regrep@lists.oasis-open.org > *Subject:* Re: [regrep] ebXML Registry tutorial - update > > I proffer 'ebXML Registry: Content Profile Development Guide' > > > <quote who="Farrukh Najmi"> > > BEDINI Ivan RD-BIZZ-CAE wrote: > > > >>Hi, > >>What is the better title for the *tutorial* technical note? > >> > >>after the yesterday meeting we have proposed something like: "ebXML > >>Registry Profile Development Guide" > >> > >> > > Only issue is that the profile developed for XXX is called the XXX > > Profuile for ebXML Registry. > > > > So the more accurate title may be: "Guide to Developing Profiles for > > ebXMl Registry" > > > > Another possibility is: "ebXML Registry: Profile Development Guide" > > > > Actually I like the last one best. > > > >>So please if someone of you has a better suggestion or some negative > >>point for the new title, speak up now :) > >> > >>Many thanks, > >>Ivan > >> > >>Ivan Bedini > >>R&D Engineer > >>France Telecom R&D > >> > >>Le jeudi 28 avril 2005 à 15:46 +0200, BEDINI Ivan RD-BIZZ a écrit : > >> > >> > >>>Hi, > >>> > >>>in attachment you will find a *first* update of the ebXML Registry > >>>tutorial.
