Subject: RE: [regrep] [Urgent Issue] (REGREPTC-8) Rename QueryInvocation toQuery
Farrukh, Still a bit rusty on this, but will give my +1 for change: -ParameterizedQuery/Type should be renamed to QueryDefinition/Type -QueryInvocation/Type should be renamed to Query/Type QueryDefinition and Query seem better and have more common understanding, have used similar in past Another option would be to have "Query" and "Query Instance", if I read the purpose of each. I'm a fan of having written definitions go with these types of objects, so others can follow, in this case, something like: Query Definition: A named function that is going to perform an operation on the data set and return a set of values that match the condition. "e.g. Search for Product, By String" Query: The function instance that performs operations on the data to return a data set based on the current population of data "e.g. scope=product, type=string, string=foo" ---Mike ________________________________________ From: Farrukh Najmi [farrukh@wellfleetsoftware.com] Sent: Wednesday, October 08, 2008 7:56 AM To: ebXML Regrep Subject: [regrep] [Urgent Issue] (REGREPTC-8) Rename QueryInvocation to Query <http://wxforge.wx.ll.mit.edu:8080/jira/browse/REGREPTC-8> This issue is urgent as it impacts ongoing spec work and implementations. So please put in your thoughts ASAP. -- Regards, Farrukh Najmi Web: http://www.wellfleetsoftware.com
