Subject: Notes from our meeting this morning
Below are the notes from our ebXML RegRep meeting this morning. Thank you Nikola! ebXML Meeting Minutes for March 19, 2009 Attendees: Breininger Kathryn Mattocks Carl Najmi Farrukh Newell Oliver Stojanovic Nikola Webber David Agenda: 1. Approval of minutes (January 22, 2009) Approved 2. Minute taker (volunteer needed - last minute takers: Farrukh, Oliver, David, Farrukh, Kathryn, Farrukh, Carl, Farrukh, Nikola) Nikola 3. Version 4.0 issues discussion Registration procedures Nikola gave a brief overview of motivation for this kind of work. It is triggered by the fact that current specs don't address workflow of maintaining registry and repository artifacts beyond enabling it (registry object status, organizations that could be submitting, responsible for, ...). Farrukh and Nikola have had few discussions about a need for this functionality and agreed that it is important enough to include it in the scope of the current work. There are various specs and established practices that could be considered as input in producing a profile (or maybe adding it to core specs or both core specs and profile) that will address this functionality. Farrukh went through details of requirements, concepts, ... as drafted at <http://wiki.oasis-open.org/regrep/documents/plan/regrep4/registrationPr ocedures>. David mentioned what we should think about supporting generic Workflow and possibly define template(s) for standards like ISO19135, UN/CEFACT, ... on top of it. Team agreed that it is a good idea and that it should be explored in more details. This would also help with the separation of what should go into core and what should go into profile(s). XPDL <http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Xpdl> and ASAP <http://www.oasis-open.org/committees/tc_home.php?wg_abbrev=asap> were mentioned as candidates for the workflow language.
