Subject: RE: Issue: fragment identifier for href attribute
This appears useful and appears to enhance modularity. With a fragment identifier, you could (apparently) retrieve only the part of the pattern you want, which would be nice especially if the pattern comes from a large file. In addition, I think fragment identifiers are common and well-understood and have the support of http://www.ietf.org/rfc/rfc2396.txt (see section 4.1, "Fragment Identifiers"). My question is, how would we identify fragments in RELAX NG patterns? With <xhtml:a>? I would not be surprised to see XPointer support come along in due time (post-rec). If asked to vote, I would be supportive. -Mike -----Original Message----- From: James Clark [mailto:jjc@jclark.com] Sent: Sunday, July 01, 2001 7:34 PM To: relax-ng@lists.oasis-open.org Subject: Issue: fragment identifier for href attribute Should we allow the value of the href attribute (on <include> and <externalRef>) to contain a fragment identifier (ie a # character)?
