[rights-governance-liaison] Minutes from Sept 6th call

The Governance and Liaison SC met at 1 PM EDT Sept 6th.

 

In attendance:

The SC discussed the request for establishing a liaison made by the TV Anytime Forum. The SC agreed to recommend to the general body that we accept the request and establish the liaison.  We reviewed the liaison letter drafted by Brad Gandee to the TV Anytime Forum thanking them for their requirements input and accepting their request for liaison.  It was agreed to add a benefits statement and some statement about the scope of the liaison. Goal was to have letter agreed to by email before the RLTC general meeting 9/12 

 

Action item:

Brad to add benefits statement

Pete to add draft scope of liaison

 

Brad reported that he will be completing a draft of a letter to the IEEE LTSC DREL Study Group requesting any input they could offer as they collect requirements for a rights language for the learning technologies space. 

 

Action item:

 

Brad to draft letter and circulate to get comment before RLTC meeting 9/12

 

SC agreed to draft letter to MPEG and OeBF advising them as to how the TC dealt with their requirements and inviting feedback and any future contributions

Brad to draft letters and circulate for comment and approval via email before RLTC meeting 9/12

 

Thomas reviewed discussion at the first meeting of the Web Services Security TC which took place this week.  The WSSTC agreed that it would like to establish a liaison with the RLTC because of their interest in using XrML licenses as tokens. and Thomas was accepted as the liaison representative from the WSSTC to the RLTC.

 

Action item:

 

Thomas to draft letter from RLTC to WSSTC  accepting the liaison.  The SC agreed to comment and agree on a final form of the letter in time for the General body meeting 9/12

 

The SC agreed to recommend that the Procedures for Technical Work dated August 16th 2002 be presented to the RLTC as a whole for approval at the meeting  of 9/12
